Warning Track Power: The ability of a batter with enough strength to hit a ball to the warning track, but not enough to hit a home run.
Wheelhouse: A hitter's power zone. Usually a pitch waist-high and over the heart of the plate.
Wheels: A ballplayer's legs.
Whiff: For a pitcher to strike out a batter.
Whitewash: To shut out a team.
Wild Pitch: A pitch that eludes the catcher and allows base runners to advance. A scoring decision of a wild pitch puts responsibility for the action on the pitcher.
Workhorse: Phrase used to describe a pitcher who can pitch a lot of innings.

Worm Burner: Batted ball that moves across the ground hard and fast.
Yakker: Curve ball.
Word of the Day:
Creosote: A type of liquid coating made from coal tar that is used as a wood preservative. It should not be used on wood that will be painted later.
