Ding Tou Xuan (Ding Tau Yun): Literally: 'suspending the top of the head.' One of the foundations of proper taijiquan posture — The head is raised as if suspended from the crown (Yang state,) while the shoulders and elbows are lowered with Chen Jian Zhui Zhou (Yin state.) The Yin/Yang relationship creates an energy potential. The posture also creates an alignment between two major points of the energy meridian system: the Baihui (Baakwui,) 'the meeting of the hundred (meridians,)' at the crown of the head: and the Huiyin (Wuiyam,) 'where the Yin meets,' at the bottom of the trunk.
