Alquist-Priolo Special Study Zone: A California law requiring a real estate agent or owner to disclose to prospective buyers that a property is located within a special studies zone (geological hazard zone) and if the property contains or will contain a dwelling (a residentally zoned lot). Special study zones cover an area 660 feet on each side of fault lines and are indicated on maps prepared by the California Department of Mines and Geology.
