Pulling The Goalie: When a team is down by one goal and they are running out of time, they might take the goalie off the ice and replace him with an attacking player. This is known as pulling the goalie. Of course the downside is that no one is protecting your goal so it could be easy for the other team to score if they get control of the puck.
