Major Penalties: For the first major penalty in any one game, the offender, except the goalkeeper, will be ordered off the ice for five (5) minutes and during this time no substitute shall be allowed. An automatic fine of $100 dollars will be added when a major penalty is imposed for any foul causing injury to the face or head of an opponent by means of a stick. Hockey players, not all but many, make millions of dollars a year. You have to wonder about $100 dollar fines.
