Checking From Behind: This is an illegal check. A check delivered on a player who is not aware of the impending hit, and therefore canít defend himself. The contact must be made on the back part of the body. However, if a player intentionally turns his body to create contact with his back, no penalty is called. Any player, who crosschecks, pushes or charges from behind an opponent who is unable to defend himself, will have a major penalty and a game misconduct called against him.
