All Souls-Saints Day: November first, All Saints' Day, celebrates: all saints, known and unknown, according to Pope Urban IV, who formalized the commemoration. The day, which is a legal holiday in France, dates back to the seventh century and was derived from a much earlier feast. All Saint's Day is observed as a special or red-letter day in many Christian churches where special services are held to remember all of the saints who do not have a specific day named in their honor.
