AMF 3 Dot: A hard rubber ball popular in the old days. It was solid black with three white dots above the bridge. Often used by bowlers to describe how a shot hit the pins if the reaction is poor. i.e., the ball hits like a three dot. This is to not degrade the ball, it was one of the best; it is that times have changed and hard rubber is just not effective on most lane conditions of today.
